Today, 26 October, a spiritual and educational meeting dedicated to promoting reading among young people and fostering a stronger reading culture was held at the student residence of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni.
The meeting was attended by Erkinboy Ernazarov, Director of the Student Residence; Yusufboy Egamov, a specialist from the Department of Youth Affairs, Spirituality and Enlightenment; and the university’s residential educators. The participants discussed the importance of reading in the personal development of young people and in broadening their horizons.
During the event, an initiative proposed by the University’s First Vice-Rector, Sherali Allaberganov, at a meeting held the previous week was put into practice. Under this initiative, students are presented with books as gifts in a quantity corresponding to the number of books in their personal collections.
In particular, Ruqiya Nurullayeva and Munisa Ibragimova, students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, were recognised for their interest in reading. They were ceremonially presented with books gifted by the First Vice-Rector.
This initiative aims to strengthen students’ interest in literature, encourage regular reading, and further promote a vibrant reading culture among young people.
