Report on the activities of the Information Resource Center of Urgench State University April 11, 2023, Urgench city The Information Resource Center of Urgench State University was established based on the Resolution No. 381 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 20, 2006 “On organizing information and library services for the population”, and the Resolution No. 135/1 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education dated June 23, 2006. Later, according to Order No. 371 dated November 11, 2022 of the Ministry and Order No. 137-I§9 dated December 7, 2022 of the Rector of Urgench State University, amendments and additions were made to the regulation of the Information Resource Center, and the center continues its activities based on this regulation. Currently, the center consists of 5 departments: 1. Scientific-methodological and information department (periodicals) 2. Acquisition, cataloging and systematization department 3. User service department 4. Electronic information resources department 5. Foreign information resources department The center is located at 14 H. Olimjon street, Urgench city, and provides services through its main building, student dormitories, faculty branches, and 2 local branches in neighborhoods. There are 41 штат positions, with 40 employees currently working. Among them: - 21 employees (51%) have higher education - 4 are masters, 1 is a specialist - 19 employees (46%) have secondary specialized library education To improve professional skills, 3 employees participated in training courses at the National Library of Uzbekistan in 2019. The total collection includes: - 24,209 titles - 320,726 copies - 22,911 full-text electronic resources Breakdown: - Scientific literature: 2,884 titles - Textbooks: 6,374 titles - Study guides: 9,302 titles - Fiction: 2,884 titles - Others: 2,765 titles Including: - 40 audiobooks - 92 Braille titles (267 copies) The electronic catalog contains 20,663 digitized materials: - 27.1% textbooks - 34.3% study guides - 2.5% scientific works - 17% fiction - others include monographs and presidential works By November 2025: - 156 titles (889 copies) worth 173,925,820.8 UZS and $486.16 were added In 2025: - 1,544 electronic versions created On the "Electronic Library" platform (unilibrary.uz): - 821,060 resources total - including textbooks, articles, dissertations, monographs The center contributed: - 32,745 materials For visually impaired students: - Braille and audio materials are provided through cooperation agreements Total users: - 28,989 members - Teachers: 924 - Students: 24,502 - Masters: 826 - Staff: 740 - Local citizens: 1,997 In 2025: - 80,632 materials issued - 32,628 electronic - 48,004 printed Subscriptions: - Newspapers and journals actively distributed Equipment: - 101 computers - scanners, printers, projector, infokiosks The center has a website providing: - news - new books - rules - catalogs - useful resources Regular events: - conferences - meetings with writers - exhibitions - reading promotions In 2025: - 153 events held Conclusion: The Information Resource Center operates in two shifts from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, providing comprehensive services to readers.
