Seminar on the Legal Protection of Intellectual Property Held at the Information Resource Centre

A seminar was held today with the participation of specialists from the Intellectual Property Protection Division of the Khorezm Regional Department of Justice.

The event was organized in implementation of Item 12 of the approved action plan for the preparation and observance of the “Copyright Protection Month.”

During the seminar, L. Yusupov, Head of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Division of the Khorezm Regional Department of Justice, and I. Akhmedov, Chief Adviser, provided staff of the Information Resource Centre with guidance on the topic “Libraries and Copyright: What Should a Librarian Know?”

The seminar addressed key issues relating to copyright and related rights, the legal protection of copyright, cooperation with publishing houses, and compliance with copyright requirements when adding books to electronic databases.

Practical recommendations were also provided to participants to promote compliance with copyright legislation in library operations.
