The main tasks of the Scientific-Methodological and Information-Information (Periodic Publications) Department of the Information Resource Center (IRC) are usually as follows:

 

1. Providing users with information - providing readers with the necessary information through newspapers, magazines and other periodicals.

2. Formation and maintenance of a periodical fund - receiving, accounting, organizing and storing newspapers, magazines and other publications.

3. Provision of bibliographic and reference services - assisting users in finding the necessary literature, articles and information upon their requests.

4. Organization of scientific-methodological work - developing methodological recommendations for improving the IRC's activities, studying and implementing best practices.

5. Promotion of information and library resources - organizing exhibitions, presentations and information days about new periodicals and information sources.

6. Conducting statistical and reporting work - collecting, analyzing and preparing reports on the activities of the department.

7. Improving the information culture of readers - providing advice on information search, effective use of sources and bibliographic literacy.
